When are dental crowns recommended?
Dental crowns are tooth shaped caps placed over teeth to restore aesthetic appeal as well as function. They are frequently used in smile makeovers, but can also be recommended as a single solution for teeth that are badly chipped, broken, misshapen, or weakened by decay. They are also used in combination with dental bridges and dental implants.
How Do Dental Bridges Work?
There are several types of dental bridges, but all perform the same function: to literally bridge the gap between your natural teeth and one or more missing teeth. Dental bridges are secured onto your natural teeth with dental crowns, holding a false tooth in place between these teeth. For short span bridges, both the crowns and the false tooth are made out of porcelain. This provides the highest amount of aesthetic appeal.
